The play is over! (Insert the Hallelujah Chorus.)
Also, the play is over. :( (Insert a funeral dirge.)
I am happy/sad, as usual. It was lovely while it lasted, but I am OH so glad to have time to do...well, anything, again. Tonight I'm going to get home BEFORE 11pm! Shock of the ages, I know. At least, it feels that way to me. It will be nice to cook dinner for ourselves again, and cheaper, too!
And now onto more productions. I just sent the longest email ever to the production team for next semester's play (which I get to direct, hurray!), and boy I had a lot to say. I have so many questions and I am really thirsting for knowledge and wonderful communication through all of this. I love to learn, and I especially love to learn practical knowledge. I've done this before, but not at this scale and I am SO excited. So excited!
I am a big picture person, and I know that, and because of that I have trained myself to focus on the details as well by making lists (every day), color-coding, and generally being so organized it's annoying - even to me! Ha!
I know that everyone else isn't like that, so I'm sure it'll take some work on my part to let stuff go if it doesn't happen. As Mo, my choir director in high school, used to say to us, "Show biz is..." and we'd respond with, "Flexibility!"
I hope lots of people audition and participate in the play. The more the merrier!
I am also looking forward to this Thursday, Thanksgiving, because we are cooking dinner for ourselves (me, Ryan, and Megs). It should be delicious! Meghan cooks a wonderful turkey, as we've already found out a few times. We're going to try and get Ryan's dad's stuffing recipe that he's worked on for the last 15 years or so. And I'm going to bake some pies! Cranberry-Apple and Pumpkin. Yum. I just adore Thanksgiving.
So Happy Thanksgiving to you all and I hope you have a lovely week!
